The Simpsons is to make its first-ever 60 minute episode.

The extended edition will go out in America in January 2017 and will be a hip-hop homage to The Great Gatsby. Guest voices will include Empire star Taraji P Henson and Keegan-Michael Key. 

The episode will be called “The Great Phatsby” and will focus on the rivalry between Mr Burns and a hip-hop mogul named Jay G - spoofing Jay Gatsby.

Also in the episode Lisa gets a wealthy boyfriend and Marge opens a boutique store.

It has also been revealed that Amy Schumer will voice three separate characters in episodes of The Simpsons, Family Guy and Bob’s Burgers which will all be broadcast on Fox in America on September 25. In The Simpsons she’ll play Mr Burns' mother, in Bob’s Burgers she’ll play a customer in the toy shop and in Family Guy she’ll voice a construction worker.
