Christopher Biggins has left the Celebrity Big Brother house. According the show the 67-year-old Porridge star's departure came after he made "a number of comments capable of causing great offence".

The comments have not been officially revealed. An apparently fake transcript containing remarks abvout race has been circulating on social media today. It has been reported that the show may broadcast a version of the conversation in a forthcoming edition.

Biggins was the bookmakers' favourite but C5 felt it had no choice as the show "does not tolerate offensive language".

At one point Ricky Gervais asked on Twitter what Biggins had said. Someone replied that he was slagging off The Office to which Gervais reponded with "get him out".

Biggins had already caused controversy when talking about sexuality and saying "the worst type though is, I'm afraid to say, the bisexuals...what it is is people not wanting to admit they are gay."

A statement on the CBB website said the show had "taken the decision to remove Christopher Biggins...Since entering Big Brother, he has made a number of comments capable of causing great offence to housemates and the viewing public. Big Brother does not tolerate offensive language capable of causing widespread offence."
