The line-up has been announced for this year's Wells Comedy Festival. Stewart Lee, Robin Ince, Sara Pascoe, Arthur Smith, Bridget Christie and Sam Simmons are among the major names booked to appear in Wells in Somerset between June 3 & 5.
The festival, founded and produced by ex-Time Out Comedy Editor Ben Williams is now in its second year. More than 20 comedians will be making the trip to England’s smallest city. Some will be doing finished shows, some will be doing works-in-progress. 2016 Edinburgh Comedy Award winner Sam Simmons will be performing his new show, Not A People Person, at the Globe Inn.
Further attractions include Radio 4 star Robert Newman, Canadian madman Tony Law, physical comedy loon Spencer Jones, silly stand-up Pat Cahill and the Comedians Cinema Club performing the Wells-shot cop comedy movie ‘Hot Fuzz’, live. Further additions include Mark Steel, Katy Brand and Dane Baptiste.
Williams says: "I couldn’t be more chuffed with the line-up for the second annual Wells Comedy Festival. I’m delighted that many of my comedy heroes are heading to Wells, and there are lots more shows to be announced."
