Update - Facebook has now put Viz's page back up. With new cuddly masthead.
The publishers of Viz magazine have responded following Facebook's decision to unpublish their page.
They have come up with a new image that features cuddly kittens and cute puppies. Posting the picture on Twitter they wrote: "Just working on our new Facebook profile. What do you think? Still too offensive?"
Apparently their page had breached community standards. The humour of Viz has often been smutty and crude as well as knowing and clever and it is not clear what exactly has suddenly prompted this dramatic response.
The magazine explained its current predicament via its Twitter account: "Facebook have taken the Viz page down. We can appeal, but if we get it wrong, we'll be "permanently deleted". Oo-er."
