Comedian and poet Henry Normal is to make a rare live appearance onstage at the forthcoming Nottingham Poetry Festival.
These days Normal is known as Steve Coogan's partner in production company Baby Cow, but he started out as a performance poet in the late 1980s. He is probably best remembered as the co-host of C4's variety show Packet of Three, alongside Frank Skinner and Jenny Eclair.
He stopped performing poetry when he became involved in working regularly with Coogan and has gone on to make hit films and TV programmes such as The Mighty Boosh and Gavin & Stacey, but started writing poetry again about a year ago.
Normal, who grew up in the Nottingham area, will be appearing at the festival on November 29. The festival runs from November 17 to December 3. Other performers lined up include Lemn Sissay, Brian Patten and Luke Wright.
