News: Josh Widdicombe in Josh This November

Josh Widdicombe's new sitcom is set to air on BBC3 this November. A pilot of flatshare comedy Josh went out as part of the Comedy Feeds online series in 2014.

The six-part series is co-written by Widdicombe and Tom Craine and directed by David Schneider (I'm Alan Partridge and The Day Today) and features a strong comedy cast including Jack Dee as the landlord Geoff and Elis James and Beattie Edmondson as flatmates Owen and Kate.

Cameos in the series include Jennifer Saunders, James Acaster, Romesh Ranganathan, James Acaster and The Chuckle Brothers.

Widdicombe stars as Josh, who, following a break-up, feels stuck with Kate and Owen. From a disastrous pool party, via public humiliation at his own birthday, to being toyed with by his high school crush, this baby faced Victor Meldrew routinely fails to be left alone to find the quiet life he craves.

Meanwhile his friend Owen (James) continues to drift cheerfully through life. He is a bundle of charm, with a never ending fountain of anecdotes about nights spent with minor celebrities, from meeting Tasmin Archer in fancy dress to watching Shaggy wee in a pool. But as different as they are, all three flatmates feel equally tormented by their strange, fusty landlord Geoff, as he inflicts himself upon their lives at every turn.
