This October, Brent Cross Town, the new North London neighbourhood, will launch its inaugural The Funny Club Comedy Festival, a brand new four-night series of stand-up comedy, including Grace Campbell (pictured), Ali Woods and Omar Badawy.

The festival will be hosted at Always Gladice in Neighbourhood Square, the new bar and restaurant concept from North London’s popular restaurant operator Urban Leisure Group, known for The Alice House in West Hampstead and Coin Laundry in Exmouth Market.

Running across two weekends – Friday 16, Saturday 17, Friday 23 and Saturday 24 October – The Funny Club will bring together 20 of London and the UK's most exciting established and emerging comedians, alongside acclaimed host and MC Tom Webb.

With tickets priced at £15, all proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Home - Mind in Enfield and Barnet, supporting vital mental health services across the North London local community. Always Gladice will also be offering 30% off pre-show food and drinks.

The Funny Club has been created to become a legacy event for Brent Cross Town, with ambitions to grow year-on-year as the neighbourhood continues to develop.

Future versions will see the festival expand across additional venues, feature more performances and attract even bigger audiences, helping establish Brent Cross Town as a destination for arts, culture and entertainment in North London.

Josh Berry: “I’m so glad that my jokes about ejaculatory vigour are helping out such an important cause, namely the work of MIND Enfield and Barnet. Laughter is great for mental health which is why they're putting on a comedy night with all the proceeds going to charity. Given this I really hope no one has a bad gig.”

Elliot Cass added: "Comedy nights are hard to beat and The Funny Club is a particularly good one. A great venue, a cracking line-up me included, and all proceeds going to a really good cause. What more could you ask for, I am happy with that".

Peter Rugman said: “Laughter might not be the best medicine - but it’s definitely up there. Comedy has always been my escape hatch, and it’s helped me through some pretty dark times. I’m really happy to be part of a festival where, for a little while, people can forget about whatever rubbish is going on outside, have a good old indulgent laugh, and raise some money for MIND Enfield and Barnet at the same time.”

Monica Hsueh said: “There’s something genuinely lovely about a room full of strangers laughing together. It’s probably the only infectious thing people aren’t afraid of! For a little while, everyone gets to forget about everything else and just have a good time.”

Kat Baker added: “Too many people spend their time nowadays sitting in a dark room at home alone laughing at their screen. I think it’s a lot better to come and sit in a dark room with other people and laugh at me instead” 

Omar Badawy added: "Very excited to be performing at a festival this close to where I live, I hope it becomes a regular occurrence!”
