This year's Nottingham Comedy Festival runs from Friday 30th October to Sunday 8th November featuring a mix of local, international and top established acts.
Ten days of comedy will unfold across fourteen venues, with more than 130 performers bringing their shows to town for some light-hearted fun. This year’s programme is more diverse than ever, featuring stand-up, improvisation, sketches, plays, poetry, drag, musical comedy, and plenty more.
Top names include Kevin Bridges, Seann Walsh, Chloe Petts, Rachel Fairburn, Paddy Young and Arthur Smith. With over 130 shows, there is a lot taking place.
This year the festival is being funded by the Arts Council to bring four special showcases – The Spotlight showcases. These are designed to celebrate under-represented groups in comedy including – LGBTQIA+. Disabled/Neurodiverse, Women and Nottinghamshire acts. Each show will be feature a mixture of professional and up-and-coming acts.
Once again there will be the Takeover Radio 106.9FM ‘Joke of the Festival Award’. Last year this was won by Alex Mitchell with his joke ‘“I did my driving test in Luton. My driving instructor asked me to pull over whenever it was safe to do so. I drove to Cambridge." Alex will be back with his new show at the new festival venue, Blend at the Nottingham Contemporary.
The festival is again supported by Castle Rock Brewery who have been supporting it since the beginning in 2009.
