A brand-new comedy festival is coming to Battersea Park this summer, combining globe-trotting stand-up heavyweights and rising talent under one Big Top Tent from 5th-7th June.
Leading the line-up are Joe Lycett, Sara Pascoe, Simon Amstell, Lucy Beaumont and Simon Brodkin, joined by a curated supporting bill of stand-out comics from the UK circuit and beyond, including Grace Campbell, Schalk Bezuidenhout and Abi Clarke. Each show will see the headline act joined by supporting comedians and a host, with something for everyone to enjoy.
On Friday night, comedian and author Sara Pascoe leads an all-female line up featuring Desiree Burch, Felicity Ward, Ania Magliano and host Gilli Apter. Saturday sees award-winning national treasure Joe Lycett supported by UK favourites Grace Campbell, Huge Davies, Paddy Young and host Chloe Petts in the afternoon, before character comic Simon Brodkin leads the evening slot plus Schalk Bezuidenhout, Travis Jay and Abi Clarke. On Sunday storyteller Lucy Beaumont takes to the stage, supported by Rachel Parris, Sophie Duker, Lewis Garnham and host Sharon Wanjohi, with a final show featuring headliner and cult favourite Simon Amstell alongside TikTok star Christopher Hall, Catherine Bohart and host Erika Ehler closing the weekend.
Also, on Saturday afternoon, Battersea Park Comedy Festival has collaborated with comedy producers Wise Fools for a specially curated performance, led by headliners Nabil Abdulrashid, Kae Kurd, and Ola Labib, plus support from Diesel & Bamph, Muhsin Yesilada, Omar Bouzad and Fathiya.
There is also family entertainment, starting on Saturday with Comedy Club 4 Kids - a kid-friendly comedy experience that’s been entertaining audiences since 2005. They bring professional stand-up comics and sketch acts to daytime shows designed for children aged 6 and up, performing in venues across the UK without rude language so families can enjoy comedy together.
On Sunday, Showstopper! The Kids Show rounds out the family-friendly content, taking your kids’ ideas and turning them into marvellous, musical adventures from scratch, in front of their very noses – everything is made up on the spot from audience suggestions and they only take suggestions from kids.
Set in one of London’s most iconic green spaces, the three-day event pairs comedy with a relaxed, open-air atmosphere. The open-air Festival Garden is where street food, craft beers and cocktails take centre stage, flowing all weekend long before, during and after the laughs.
The festival will also deliver an educational outreach programme in select Wandsworth schools, using comedy to encourage young people to build confidence and develop public speaking skills through interactive workshops.
A limited number of discounted tickets will also be available via Wandsworth Council's Access for All scheme. The scheme helps to ensure everyone in Wandsworth has an equal chance to access local opportunities, with discounts and offers available for eligible residents on sports and leisure, education, events and other essential services.
Ticket prices for the headliner shows start from £32, the Wise Fools presents show starts from £20 and family shows start from just £15. Comedy shows are suitable for ages 16+.
