Podcast Weirdos Book Club is returning for a fourth series. Hosted by comedians Sara Pascoe and Cariad Lloyd, this is the podcast that invites famous faces to join them to discuss the weird and wonderful world of books. Having delighted listeners and cultivated a loyal fanbase, the first episode of the latest series will be available on Thursday 23rd October via all major podcast platforms.
In case you missed it, we are in our book club era, but! Weirdos Book Club doesn’t pile on the homework - you don’t even need to have read the book to listen to this podcast. It’s a welcoming space for everyone to feel accepted and appreciated.
As each chapter begins, Sara and Cariad invite you, the audience, on a journey along with their comedian and writer friends. Every episode discusses a book that inspires deep conversation, opens the doors to inspiration and is of course - weird.
Rebecca Lucy Taylor aka Self Esteem is the first guest on the new series discussing her debut book - A Complicated Woman - which is on shelves from 30 October.
Other guests coming up include Miriam Toews - the internationally acclaimed author of Women Talking on which the Oscar-nominated film of the same name was based, Olivier award winning and BAFTA nominated actress Juliet Stevenson, Alan Davies - acclaimed comedian and star of QI and Jonathan Creek, Edinburgh Makar Poet Laureate Michael Pederson and many more.
Previous guests include Naomi Klein, Graham Norton, David Nicholls, Nish Kumar, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Ian Rankin, Marian Keyes, Sally Phillips, Yomi Adegoke, Roisin Conaty and Kate Mosse.
Sara Pascoe said: “I’m very excited about the new series, even more books, even better guests, more exciting conversations, less interrupting… Cariad why aren’t you interrupting me?”.
Cariad Lloyd said: “More reading, more books, more guests, and this time I’ve got reading glasses!”
The podcast is produced by Plosive – the team behind award-winning podcasts including Off Menu with Ed Gamble and James Acaster, Lucy & Sam’s Perfect Brains, Northern News and Single Ladies In Your Area.
