How Greg Davies Ended Up Dressed As George Michael In Front Of Wham's Singers

Greg Davies has revealed how he found himself in a slightly awkward position when a couple of 1980s pop legends were guests on the upcoming series of Never Mind the Buzzocks.

During a special themed 1980s pop show the guests included Wham's singers Pepsi and Shirlie. And for reasons which Davies explained on The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X.

Davies takes up the story..."There's this thing on Buzzcocks where we say, ‘Oh, why don't we do a funny sketch before the show?’ And everyone goes, ‘Yeah, yeah!’ Jamali [Maddix] and Sophie [Willan] and Noel [Fielding] will go, ‘Yeah, that would be great! We’ll do a funny sketch.’ And I'm like, ‘You know, maybe I could dress up as George Michael, and you could be Boy George?’ And this happens every time. One by one everyone drops out, and there's a camera crew and makeup people waiting. So, we get in, and I go, ‘Okay, so it's just me dressed as George Michael, yeah, in front of Pepsi and Shirlie? I'm dressed as their friend who's no longer with us. That sounds like a good sketch!’”
