Helen Bauer returns to the Edinburgh Fringe and then will be touring with her latest show.
Bless Her is a show about learning to love yourself when most of the time you really, really do not. It’s about Helen finding out that trying NOT to hate yourself is made all the more difficult when there is a tiny version of yourself, full of all your childhood hopes and dreams, keeping watch.
This show is a new chapter in Helen Bauer’s stand-up journey, a chapter where she slowly creaks open a door to a room filled with the serious topics she’s avoided her whole career. Bless Her is the show where Helen Bauer starts to bring down her six foot, German engineered walls. Seriously though. It’s scary behind those walls. It’s where intrusive thoughts, binge eating and the overwhelming fear that you’re always going to be alone live. But Helen is going there.
On bringing her fourth show, Bless Her, to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and on tour in the UK and Ireland, Helen Bauer says: “I am so excited and nervous for Bless Her, finding my compassionate voice is very much a work in progress.”
On accompanying Helen Bauer on her fourth show, Bless Her, to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and on tour in the UK and Ireland, Little Helen says: “Big Helen needs to stop telling everyone my secrets.”
Helen Bauer is one of the UK’s most exciting rising stars on the UK comedy circuit. She is co-host of the wildly popular podcast Trusty Hogs with Catherine Bohart. She has written and toured three critically acclaimed stand-up shows in Edinburgh, Soho Theatre, Australia and Europe. Her TV appearances include Live At The Apollo (BBC), Am I Being Unreasonable? (BBC) and Extraordinary (Disney+). She also wrote and starred in the short film Small Doses which aired on BBC Three. Bless Her will be Helen’s fourth touring stand-up show.
