British comedy Chicken Town will be released theatrically this summer following its sneak peak in the BFI Works in Progress showcase at London Film Festival.

Chicken Town tells the story of two schoolfriends (Ethaniel Davy and Amelie Davies) who join forces with a green-fingered grandad (Graham Fellows, aka John Shuttleworth) to fence a shed of weed that the old man has accidentally grown on his allotment.

Laurence Rickard (Ghosts, Horrible Histories) plays a conspiracy-theorist mechanic who tries to warn the unlikely trio against taking on the criminal family who control the town.

The cast is completed by Alistair Green (Flowers, Stath Lets Flats).

Shot entirely on location in the Fens, Chicken Town is directed by Richard Bracewell, who directed the Horrible Histories comedy Bill. The script was co-written with Patrick Dalton, author of the Shit London toilet book series.

The UK theatrical release of Chicken Town is being handled by Verve Pictures.
