
British online comedy creators Jack and Dean have struck a deal with New Form Digital, the online studio formed by Discovery Communications and Hollywood veterans Ron Howard and Brian Grazer, to produce a digital pilot as part of the successful New Form Digital Incubator Series 2.
Jack Howard and Dean Dobbs, who have racked up over 33m YouTube hits and are Radio 1’s most exciting new voices, will shoot the digital short later this month. UK-based Colour TV, will produce.
New Form Digital’s Incubator Series 2 brings together a slate of digital native talent to collaborate on the development, production and distribution of 10 new short films that redefine storytelling for the social media generation. The talent includes a mix of established and emerging filmmakers who are commissioned by New Form Digital to produce shorts that will serve to inspire digital series to stream on a variety of platforms.
Jack and Dean's comedy shorts have become viral hits with videos regularly exceeding one million views. As well as their online success, they are developing a sitcom for television, currently hosting ‘Chart Bite’ on BBC iPlayer and have a regular show on BBC Radio 1 (next episode 16th February). They have also completed a run of sell-out live comedy shows, headlined Reading and Leeds Festivals and will be appearing at the Bloomsbury Theatre on Saturday 16th May. Tickets available here.
