Musical comedian Weird Al Yankovic is to appear in the UK later this year. The show is at the Eventim Apollo on October 4 as part of his "Mandatory World Tour". Tickets have not officially gone on sale yet.
Weird Al, real name Alfred Matthew Yankovic, has been famous for over three decades for his spoofs of pop songs. His breakthrough came in 1980 when he rebooted Queen's Another One Bites The Dust as Another One Rides The Bus. His most famous track is Eat It, his version of Michael Jackson's Beat It, which was an MTV hit thanks in part to the scene-by-scene parody of Jackson's video.
His latest album, Mandatory Fun, includes Word Crimes, a send-up of Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines.
