A comedy festival in Nashville is aiming to break the Guinness World Record for the longest-ever comedy show.
The gig will start on April 12 at The East Room in Nashville. Performers and guests will attempt to break the record for a show by multiple comedians, which is currently 80 hours and was achieved by the Laugh Factory in Hollywood from December 6-9, 2010. That show included 170 different acts by 150 comedians.
The organisers are hoping that they will smash the record and run through the entire duration of the Wild West Comedy Festival until April 19. That will be 192 non-stop hours of stand-up comedy.
The attempt is the brainchild of Nashville-based comic DJ Buckley. The 192-hour schedule will feature showcases, feature length and headliner length sets and surprise drop-ins from comedians of "various levels of fame and fortune and infamy and misfortune."
The organisers have launched a funding campaign for the project. Details here.
