Flipping Good Competition For Comedians Launched

Flipping Good Competition For Comedians Launched
Comedians Beer Mat Flipping Championship

7:30pm, 3rd March 2023

On March 3rd at 21Soho the inaugural Comedians Beer Mat Flipping Championship will take place, with Charlie Baker, Tom Rosenthal, Harriet Kemsley, Sarah Keyworth, Pierre Novellie, Ania Magliano, Rose Johnson & Dan Cook competing to take home the trophy. The spectacular, chaotic night of flipping, trick shots, betting odds, psych outs and deep rivalry will be hosted by Sikisa and Stuart Laws, with Bella Hull providing court-side reporting and Matt Sandstorm acting as a hype man.

The first half of the night is a chance for the audience to find out about the history of beer mat flipping, what the elite flippers are capable of and what the contestants can do. Two handed flips, blindfolded, trick shots and psych outs will be showcased so the audience can gauge the standard of the competition. At half time the seedings and live betting odds will be announced and the audience can place their votes for who they think will win.

The second half is pure competition, starting with a quarter final pairing top seeds vs bottom seeds in a speed round. The semi final will see the winners paired up and the biggest stack successfully flipped winning a place in the final. The final sees a turn based, darts-rules attempt to get from 138 beer mats down to 0 with as few turns as possible - but ending on a double handed flip. Then it’s the trophy lift!

Sikisa brings her infectious charm and humour to the host role, steering the ship with her experience of wrestling and bingo nights. Stuart Laws is the beer mat flipping expert and enthusiast, think of him as the Alan Shearer to Sikisa’s Gary Lineker. Bella Hull will be live streaming as a Gen Z reporter, with unfettered access to the competitors to find out what their tactics are and how they’re feeling after crashing out of the tournament. Matt Sandstorm brings hype energy to the night, accompanied by his passion for live slap bass.

Audience even have the opportunity to purchase courtside seats, an exclusive few available right up close to the action, with their own table and bespoke beer mats to be able to join in the action.
