Janey Godley has issued a statement on social media saying that she has to undergo further cancer treatment. Last summer she said that her ovarian cancer had gone.
Posting on Instagram and Twitter she said that cancer was: "back on the cards" and she will now undergo chemotherapy. She explained that her cancer marker had gone up and there was still a bit of disease in her abdomen.
She is still planning to tour in early 2023 with her new show, Not Dead Yet. She said: "I'm determined to get back on stage. I have always been a kind of die on your feet not your knees type of person, you know me, so I'm looking forward to the tour."
"I think it is gonna be fair and honest to say it might be the last time you'll see me live on stage. I am hoping it's not but I think it's a fair estimation that that will be what we're looking at."
She explained that her ovarian cancer was stage three and was treatable but not curable.
"I don't want to just fade away. I want to go out with a bang. Are you ready to see me go out with a bang...I am not going sing My Way. It's no gonna be that kind of tour. There's going to be a lot of fun. It's gonna be my dream come true to be back onstage."
