TV Panel Show Pilot For Mark Nelson

TV Panel Show Pilot For Mark Nelson

BBC Scotland is to broadcast a one-off pilot of The Good, The Bad And The Unexpected, hosted by Mark Nelson.

The show, in which comedians try to win points with their good, bad or unexpected stories and answers, has already been a hit on radio, where it was hosted first by Julia Sutherland from 2015 and then by award-winning stand-up Nelson from 2019.

The guests on the TV version will be Greg McHugh, Elaine C Smith and Len Pennie.

In the radio version a pair of comedians were asked which they prefer out of alternatives such as "salt or vinegar, Edinburgh or Glasgow" with points awarded for the answers based on audience applause.

Elsewhere one of each pair talked about something good that's happened in their life recently, the other responded with an anecdote about something bad, and the show closed with questions from the audience.

Nelson modestly tweeted: "Some big news. We’ve been given a pilot."

There are hopes of a series being commissioned for TV, but the series will definitely continue on the radio, according to the British Comedy Guide.

The Good, The Bad And The Unexpected will be broadcast on BBC Scotland at 10.30pm, Monday, April 4. It will also be available on iPlayer for anyone to watch after broadcast.
