Richard Osman's House of Games Line Up This Week

Richard Osman's House of Games Line Up This Week

Comedian Stephen Bailey, Amanda Lamb, Nick Moran and Crystelle Pereira test their general knowledge skills on this week's House of Games.

A daily winner is declared following a quickfire round at the end of each show, and the scores are tallied across the week, resulting in an overall champion being crowned on Friday.

Will the winning stars opt for the much-coveted House of Games decanter, or will they be tempted with the House of Games deckchair?

Comedians have a fantastic track record on this show, with Angela Barnes making House of Games history in late 2020 by becoming the first contestant to win all five of their episodes. Other winners include Chris Washington, who appeared in TV's Nationwide ad campaign, and Cariad Lloyd, who is best known for hosting her Griefcast podcast.

And comedians are currently on a pretty good run. France based comic-turned-novelist Ian Moore and UK-based Aussie Felicity Ward are the most recent winners of normal shows. Before then Angela Barnes (who was the first competitor to win all five episodes in 2020), Josie Long, Ivo Graham and Sally Phillips won special House of Champions editions. In fact there has not been a programme won by a non-comedian since November 26, 2021 when Toby Tarrant was the winner.

Anything can happen in the quickfire final round, Answer Smash. The teams are given a category and a picture relating to that category appears on the screen. Below the picture is a general knowledge question. The players have to "smash" the answers together to create one answer. (E.g. if given a picture of Mr. Stink and a question whose answer is Tinky Winky, the answer the players would have to give is "Mr. Stinky Winky".) The leader at the start of the round may not be the leader at the end.

If you want to make a prediction though go for a comedian. No pressure on Stephen Bailey then.

Richard Osman's House of Games, Monday, March 21 to Friday, March 25, BBC Two, 6pm.
