Covid Hits Red Nose Day BBC Schedule

£42.7m has been raised in Comic Relief's Red Nose Day BBC broadcast.

Founder Richard Curtis said that more money may come too from schools and when a compilation programme is broadcast on Sunday.

Highlights included Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders visiting The Repair Shop to get their toaster fixed, Judi Dench popping in with her daughter, and Matt Lucas and David Walliams reviving their Rock Profiles sketches. Lucas made a splash with his barrow boy Adele and David Walliams played Lady Gaga in a variety of outlandish oufits.

Zoe Ball, Kylie Minogue and Joel Dommett had to pull out of the show after testing positive for Covid. Minogue ws due to appear in a sketch with the cast of BBC sitcom Ghosts and a lot of fans wee disappointed that this didn't happen.

Some of the money will benefit organisations providing aid in Ukraine.

Zoe Ball said she would be "watching & supporting from bed".

Vernon Kay replaced Joel Dommett in the Prizeathon section.
