Richard Osman's House of Games Line Up This Week

More comedians will be competing for Richard Osman's precious prizes this week as Ian Moore and Jen Brister take on Kelvin Fletcher and Dr Zoe Williams.

Ian Moore is a slick, impeccably well-dressed stand-up mod and also a successful novelist. He recently branched out into murder mystery territory with Death and Croissants, which sounds as if it might give Richard Osman a run for his money in the quirky sleuthing stakes. The TV rights have already been sold so things are looking good for Moore.

And if you are wondering where Moore gets his ideas from the croissant aspect may possibly come from the fact that he lives in France and when not gigging helps to run a B&B with his French wife.

Brighton-based Anglo-Spanish stand-up comedian Jen Brister is also a published author, thought her book is definitely more autobiographical. The Other Mother, subtitled 'a memoir for ALL parents (not the smug ones)', was longlisted for the Polari Book Prize in 2020 and tells Brister's story of becoming a mum when her partner gave birth to twins. Brister says of the book: "Like every new parent, I had absolutely no clue what I was doing. Add 'gay' and 'non-biological' to the mix and what do you get? Not a weird box of detergent, but a panicked beige lesbian desperately googling, 'Will my babies love me?' at 3 am."

So will being published writers help Moore and Brister in Richard Osman's quiz? Well, they should certainly be good with words, but can they think quickly on their feet, or rather sitting down in their comfy chairs in the studio. Comedianshave a pretty good track record at winning this show - Felicity Ward triumphed last week – let's see who is victorious this week.
