Would I Lie To You? Line-Up Tonight

There's been a right old fuss on social media today about a batch of comedians who are set to be a part of the GB News roster. But don't panic, this isn't a picture of them. For the record they include Mark Dolan, Simon Evans, Dominic Frisby, Steve N Allen, Rhona Cameron, Nick Dixon, Andrew Doyle, Josh Howie, Leo Kearse, Sajeela Kershi, Erich McElroy, Diane Spencer and Ian Stone.

Simon Evans was steadfast in the face of criticism. He tweeted: "Proud to be front and centre of this exemplary crew. Especially pleased that this squad represents a wider, more viewpoint-diverse range of people than I think you'll find on any comparable show. Nevertheless, something seems to have outraged hundreds of QT-critics. Heigh ho."

Some people expressed surprise that Rhona Cameron was part of the GB News 'team', while others were surprised that there was no place for outspoken critic Lee Hurst.

Whether they will prove themselves to be so brilliantly funny that they will be invited to appear on future editions of Would I Lie To You? remains to be seen. But ths week's WILTY line-up features comedians Jason Manford and Loyiso Gola alongside Bake Off breakout star Briony May Williams and disco queen Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

Briony May Williams studied Spanish and French at Durham University, achieving a 2:1 with a distinction in Spoken Spanish, Briony went on to travel the world before qualifying as a secondary school teacher of Spanish and French, earning her Post Graduate Certificate in Education at the University of Bristol. After teaching for six years, she is currently a stay-at-home-mum to her daughter, Nora. Ellis-Bextor became a lockdown hero after regularly performing songs in her house during lockdown.

Shame there isn't one female comedian to go up against the two male comedians, but maybe I'm being too woke. There goes my chance of appearing on GB News.

The regulars David Mitchell, Lee Mack and Rob Brydon will of course also be present.

Would I Lie To You? Fridays, 8pm, BBC One.
