BBC Wales Comedy The Tuckers Returns

BBC Wales Comedy The Tuckers Returns

A new series of The Tuckers starts on 26 January with a double bill on BBC One Wales. The whole series will be available to watch on BBC iPlayer.

Written by and starring Steve Speirs (Stella; After Life; Pirates of the Caribbean), the six part sitcom follows The Tuckers, a family of lovable rogues determined to survive through any means necessary. The series also stars Alexandra Riley, Robert Pugh, Lynn Hunter and Ben McGregor.

In this series, the Tuckers are forced to face the consequences of their unsuccessful money making schemes, and the potential failure of their beloved catering company ‘Tuckers Catering’.

Steve Speirs said: “The Tuckers are back in their street and I can’t wait for you to see what they’ve been up to. It’s wonderful to have had such a warm welcome in the Valleys from the people of Senghennydd. It was also wonderful to put Glyn’s clothes on again, and even better to see they still fit after lockdown…..”

In the first episode of the series, Glyn has a dating dilemma. The rest of the family are loved up in new relationships except for Glyn, so he lies and announces that he’s dating too. He calls upon Nat to help him with finding a match, however in true Glyn Tucker style, it ultimately ends in disaster. Bobby and Lush pluck up the courage to tell Nat about their new relationship, while Peggy is busy preparing ahead of her evening of passion with Dai Up and Down.

With romances young and old and some family members being luckier in love than others, there’s drama and mishap around every corner. The series was filmed in Senghennydd in the Aber Valley above Caerphilly and features parts of the local area.
