Peter Kay Tickets Sell Out In Minutes

=Peter Kay To Tour Again?

Tickets for a rare live appearance from Peter Kay sold out in minutes when they went on sale today.

It was announced earlier this week that Kay would appear at the Manchester O2 Apollo to host two very special charity Q & A shows in aid of Laura Nuttall. All Profits will go to the Doing It For Laura & The Brain Tumour Charity on August 7.

Fans were inevitably frustrated. The Mirror reports that one fan tweeted: "No tickets anywhere! Not fair. I have been refreshing my screen for ages. Peter more concerts please!"

Laura was 18 and in her first term at Uni when, after a couple of headaches and a routine eye test, she was given the devastating diagnosis of Glioblastoma, a grade 4 brain cancer with a prognosis of 12-18 months.

She has since been through two brain surgeries, 30 sessions of radiotherapy and 12 months of chemotherapy and soon exhausted all the treatment options available in the UK.

Her family identified experimental immunotherapy available in Germany and Laura’s been making regular trips out to Cologne when Covid has allowed. She is now 2.5 years post diagnosis and has just completed her second year at Manchester University.

Laura needs to continue to fund the treatment in order to stay one step ahead of the cancer and that’s a really expensive business.

All profits will go towards Doing It For Laura, a charity established to help pay for her treatment with a portion of the profits going towards The Brain Tumour Charity.

Kay has not made many appearances since unexpectedly cancelling his last major UK tour. He recreated his iconic Comic Relief music video for his version of Tony Christie’s hit, “(Is This The Way To) Amarillo” for the BBC's Big Night In night in April 2020 and also put togther an audio version of Car Share.

Tickets, priced £40, went on sale at 9am here. There is now a waiting list for tickets that you can join here.
