The Jonathan Ross Show Returns – Guests Include Jimmy Carr and Daisy May Cooper

Jonathan Ross Show Guests This Week

A new series of The Jonathan Ross Show seems to have slipped into the schedules without much fuss or fanfare, although to be honest we've been a bit distracted over the last day or so.

The guests on the first episode are Strictly Come Dancing champion Oti Mabuse, BAFTA Award winning star of This Country Daisy May Cooper, Jimmy Carr and father and son duo Martin and Roman Kemp. Plus international multiplatinum selling artist James Arthur will be performing in the studio.

It'll be interesting to see how this series compares to the current series of The Graham Norton Show. Norton's show last night was set to feature Tom Cruise plugging his latest Top Gun movie but it was pulled from the schedules due to top royal Prince Philip dying. It has been filmed though so will no doubt go out quite soon. Follow @brucedes on Twitter to find out the new transmission date as soon as it is announced. On the other hand Ross's guests tend to all be in the studio, which is nice, and better than Zoom.

Meanwhile back at Jonathan Ross Towers this opening episode features This Country's Daisy May Cooper, who is always excellent interview value - she has a new BBC comedy series in the pipeline about witchfinders, co-starring Tim Key. The Witchfinder, set in East Anglia in 1647, is created by Neil and Rob Gibbons, the writers and directors of This Time with Alan Partridge. So maybe the fact that she is on the promotional trail means it will be airing quite soon. We hope so anyway.

Jimmy Carr will presumably be talking about the new series on which he is one of the judges,  I Can See Your Voice. He recently said of the show, "I guess the easiest way to explain I Can See Your Voice is that it is the opposite of The Voice. Instead of not being able to see the singer and you can just hear their voice. This is, we can see the singer, and we can’t hear their voice. It turns out their format makes a lot more sense - this is crazy!" He might mention his new hair too.

The Jonathan Ross Show, Saturdays from April 10, 10.05pm, ITV1.
