America Goes For Ghosts

Ghosts Wins South Bank Show Sky Arts Award

CBS is to make an American version of the hit BBC sitcom Ghosts.

Like the UK version, it follows a struggling young couple, Samantha (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar), whose dream comes true when they inherit a beautiful country house, only to find it’s both falling apart and inhabited by deceased previous residents.

This follows a single camera pilot shot last year. Deadline reports that the ensemble show will also star Rebecca Wisocky, Brandon Scott Jones, Danielle Pinnock, Asher Grodman, Richie Moriarty, Sheila Carrasco and Román Zaragoza and that the series will be written by Joe Port & Joe Wiseman,.

Port and Wiseman will be executive producers along with the UK team of Mathew Baynton, Jim Howick, Simon Farnaby, Laurence Rickard, Ben Willbond, Martha Howe-Douglas, Alison Carpenter, Debra Hayward, Alison Owen (Monumental Television) and Angie Stephenson (BBC Studios).

Ghosts has been one of the BBC's most popular sitcoms this year with two hit series already made. The British cast features Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard, Ben Willbond, Lolly Adefope and Katy Wix.
