Romesh Ranganathan's guests on the latest edition of The Ranganation tonight are comedian Maisie Adam and real-life Alan Partridge, Richard Madeley. They join the hand-picked focus group The Ranganation as they chew over the lighter elements of this week’s news.
Brighton-based stand-up comedian Adam has been on an amazing run at the moment, having appeared on Would I Lie To You? and Mock The Week as well as winning Richard Osman's House of Games Adam – not Adams – was also the narrator the new reality TV series on ITV2, The Cabins. I'm guessing The Ranganation may well want to ask her about the burning issue of the moment – her stylish and distinctive mod/ska/skin hairstyle/haircut.
The Yorkshire-born comic won the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny? competition at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2017 and in 2018 won the Amused Moose National New Comic competition and was shortlisted for the Edinburgh Comedy Awards Best Newcomer Award. If her face looks familiar (even if her haircut doesn't) you may also have spotted her as one of the comedians in a past Nationwide advertising campaign.
Adam was also picked out by The Guardian as a comedian to watch in 2021. And I expect there will be plenty of opprtunities to watch her in the coming months. She can also be heard on the recent Off The Beat & Track podcast with Stu Whiffen. Listen here.
Veritable living legend Richard Madeley was recently in the 'news' for going out to the shops in in socks without any shoes. There has also been talk this week of him replacing Piers Morgan as a co-host of Good Morning Britain, but then again there is also a petition to give the job to Alan Partridge.
