James Acaster's acclaimed show Cold Lasagne Hate Myself 1999 is to be available at last for fans to watch online at a time of their choosing.
Following a live streaming last December which was only available to watch as it went out, the show will be available on Vimeo from March 5.
It will run for 2 hours and 46 minutes and will include previously unseen footage of Acaster in action. You can buy the full ‘Cold Lasagne Hate Myself 1999’ show plus the bonus show ‘Make a New Tomorrow’ or you can purchase each show separately as episodes.
The show available is the performance filmed at EartH in Hackney before the pandemic. The release might be partly in response to demand and maybe also due to illicit bootleg versions popping up on the web.
Commenting on the show at the time of the live stream Acaster said: "It was a show about the best year of my life (1999) and the worst year of my life (2017), I wore a very nifty jacket for it and I looked extremely cool. But then in 2020 the entire world changed, and the release of this show got heavily delayed...I couldn't be prouder of everyone who made the release and filming of this show possible, it's my favourite thing I've ever done and I owe them a lot (of thanks and also money).
Acaster recently returned to television as the co-host with Josh Widdicombe of Hypothetical, which runs on Dave on Wednesday nights. In each episode, top comedians in the studio are posed increasingly absurd hypothetical situations by Widdicombe and Acaster and scored on how well they would deal with them.
Cold Lasagne Hate Myself 1999 initially ran in the West End in London in 2018 where it received gushing five star reviews. The run was extended and a national tour followed. Read our review here.
