News: The Last Leg Risks The Wrath Of The Russians

News: Last Leg Guests Tonight

Tonight's guests on The Last Leg are comedian/presenter Jamali Maddix and national treasure Joanna Lumley. (Update: Joanna Lumley has been replaced by Sandi Toksvig).

Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker will be mixing their usual banter with politics on the live Channel 4 show.

On Wednesday the Last Leg's Twitter account posted a jokey message to the Russian Embassy: "Dear @RussianEmbassy we’re gonna cover the Navalny story this week on @TheLastLeg and we’d like to give you a right of reply. #IsItOk to charge someone with breaking their parole when you put Novichok in their pants?"

Alexei Navalny is a campaigner who has spoken out against Vladimir Putin and has recently been jailed. He told the court he was being targeted to intimidate anyone else who might think of criticising Putin.

Concerned fans of the show responded on Twitter to say that the show and its presenters should exercise caution. Some were serious, some less serious.

Katrina Brown tweeted: "Please be careful. These guys have no sense of humour. You're safe but this man is not & who do you think they'll take it out on if they feel humiliated? Not you. I share your anger but worry you sometimes go a bit too far."

Stephen Shaw added: "If you wake up with nausea headache and vertigo, check out side, there might be an unusual van or something. If in a hotel, change your room quickly. Ask the CIA."

Billy Withers wrote: "New to London Fashion Week... The Novichok strap. For the well dressed man about the court, obviously."

Conner of Kinghorn tweeted: "Did you know that aichmophobia is the fear of sharp things such as the tip of an umbrella? I predict quite a few ex-pat Russians have this fear".

The story of Jackie Weaver and the Handforth Parish Council meeting that went viral may also be discussed. #handforthtv
