Applications are now open for So You Think You're Funny? 2019.
The competition has an excellent record at discovering new stars. Previous winners include Dylan Moran, Lee Mack, Aisling Bea, Rhona Cameron, Peter Kay and David O'Doherty. Recent winners include Maisie Adam in 2017 and Danny Garnell in 2018.
Applications are now open for the 30th year of the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe newcomer competition So You Think You’re Funny? at the Gilded Balloon.
Created in 1988 by Karen Koren, Artistic Director of the Gilded Balloon, to develop comedy stars of the future, the list of past finalists and winners says it all. Dylan Moran, Peter Kay, Aisling Bea, Jason Byrne, Tommy Tiernan, Miles Jupp, David O’Doherty, Lee Mack, Tom Allen and Phil Kay to name a few.
Australian comedian Heidi Regan has been crowned winner of this year's So You Think You're Funny? competition.
First runner-up went to Ireland's Ruth Hunter and 2nd runner-up was another Australian, Danielle Walker.
