Sara Pascoe
There was a fuss a while back about the lack of female travel series presenters on mainstream television. Joanna Lumley seemed to be flying a fairly solitary flag, but now here comes Sara Pascoe to pick up the baton with her own series looking at, and trying her hand at “the world’s most endangered jobs”.
Sara Pascoe’s LadsLadsLads marks a change of image and direction. Out goes neutral stage-wear, in comes sparkly top and fishnet tights. The material is less political, more personal, as we hear about the panel show regular's eventful life since breaking up with fellow stand-up John Robins.
Sara Pascoe is a woman of many talents; writer, comedian, actor - there is nothing she can’t turn her hand to which is why she has gone on a journey to discover and learn the most endangered jobs on earth.
Mrs Merton Meets Mrs Merton
Paul Merton used to be married to Caroline Quentin, so her married name would be Mrs Merton.
Caroline Aherne played a character called Mrs Merton.
In real life Caroline Aherne was married to Peter Hook so her married name would have been Caroline Hook.
Sara Pascoe’s self-penned new comedy is not backwards in coming forwards. As she says at the start,”I am going to destroy your faith in love.” Mrs Brown’s Boys this ain’t, even if she does address the viewer/audience just like the Irish mainstream sitcom. Out Of Her Mind is much better than that. It might just be my favourite sitcom of 2020.
Sara Pascoe’s self-penned new comedy is not backwards in coming forwards. As she says at the start,”I am going to destroy your faith in love.” Mrs Brown’s Boys this ain’t then. But it might just be my new all-time favourite sitcom.
Pascoe stars as Sara, a single thirtysomething whose sister (Fiona Button) is getting married, her best friend (Cariad Lloyd) is pregnant and pretty much everybody else in her age category seems to be hitched up in a relationship.
