The transmission details have been confirmed for Charlie Brooker's Antiviral Wipe.

The thirty-minute special will air on Thursday, 14 May at 9pm on BBC Two.

Earlier this year Simpsons executive producer Mat Selman tweeted: "Hey Charlie, we'd love to have you do a voice on a Black Mirror-ish episode of the Simpsons. We're super fans & we'd love to have you in the show (PS, this is real.)"

Charlie Brooker's Wipe 2017 will not be happening.

The broadcaster/programme maker/comedian/writer has been forced to give his annual overview a break this year due to work commitments.

Brooker revealed the bad news on Twitter, posting a number of tweets to explain "Got some good news and bad news. Bad news is no 2017 Wipe. Was set to do it but ran out of road. Am way behind on scripts / dev elsewhere and contrary to my optimistic delusions it turns out I can’t do 400 things at once."

The satirical series set in the White House won Best Comedy Series, while its star Julia Louis-Dreyfus won Best Comedy Actress for the sixth time.

Best Comedy Actor was Donald Glover for Atlanta. The show also won Best Comedy Directing.

News: 3 Bafta Nominations For Fleabag, 2 for Last Leg, People Just Do Nothing, McIntyre & Cunk

The Last Leg features in nominations in two categories in the BAFTA TV Awards, announced today.

The C4 show fronted by Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker is up for Best Comedy & comedy Entertainment Programme alongside Charlie Brooker's Wipe 2016, Cunk on Shakespeare and Taskmaster.

And Adam Hills is nominated for Best Entertainment Performance alongside Claudia Winkleman for Strictly Come Dancing, Graham Norton for The Graham Norton Show and Michael McIntyre for Michael McIntyre's Big Show.

News: Charlie Brooker To Present Film 2017

Charlie Brooker is to be the next presenter of Film 2017.

He will be the latest person to host the programme in this current run of guest presenters when he chairs next Wednesday's edition of the flagship film show on January 25. 

Previous guests hosts in this series have included Paul Merton, Zoe Ball, Camilla Long and Edith Bowman.

This follows Claudia Winkleman's decision to step down after six years on the programme.
