News: Special Xmas Shows Announced for Sara Pascoe & Will Adamsdale

Sara Pascoe and Will Adamsdale have confirmed a run of special shows at the Battersea Arts Centre in the build-up to Christmas.

Sara Pascoe’s Christmas Assembly, from December 14 - 23, will be a raucous get-together of songs, fables and all your favourite brand-new festive traditions brought to you by the Church of the Science of Christmas and led by Pascoe (Have I Got News For You?, Mock the Week, 8 out of 10 Cats, Live at the Apollo, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Room 101 and QI).

Since none of the religions out there floated her boat, Pascoe has invented her own. She’s going all out, dreaming-up madcap traditions and new hymns that will be sung onstage by a human-sized mouse choir.

Following on from the Sara Pascoe Vs… series of comedy lectures, tackling subjects including history, politics, science and feminism, she will ponder deeper philosophical questions about Christmas whilst celebrating the absurd.

Meanwhile Will Adamsdale comes to the same venue with Jackson's Way: The Christmas Top-up Power-Seminar! from Dec 1 - 12.

Adamsdale's Perrier Award-winning motivation-a-thon returns as hopeless self-help guru Chris John Jackson gives his teachings a festive twist. Part-theatre part-comedy, Jackson is a modern day parody of American motivational speakers and a hilarious satire of the world of self-help and corporate jargon.

After a decade-long break, hopeless self-help guru Chris John Jackson is back and armed with infectious energy, appealingly pointless concepts and an impressive array of made up words fresh from his latest book. As he shares his unique festive survival tips, in an attempt to stand out in a booming self-help industry, it becomes apparent that he’s weighed down with emotional baggage and in need of a little help himself.

Will Adamsdale is a Perrier and Fringe First Award-winning performer, deviser and writer. He started making shows at Battersea Art Centre in 2003, using Scratch to develop the first incarnation of Jackson's Way. In 2010 Will achieved a feat never before seen, performing 26(.2) Jackson’s Ways in 26(.2) Jackson days across London.
