Interview: Rarely Asked Questions – Tape Face: Page 2 of 2

6. What do your parents/children (delete as applicable) think of your job?

They think I am an accountant and I have a special suit I have to wear for visits home.

7. What’s the worst thing about being a comedian?

Being given ‘jokes’ to use in my set by people who don’t know what jokes are.

8. I think you are very good at what you do (that’s why I’m asking these questions). What do you think of you?

I love what I do and find that it keeps me young.

9. How much do you earn and how much would you like to earn?

I’ve changed my mind about my answer of what irritates me. This question irritates me. This question is like a slug that can’t say the letter H.

10. How important is luck in terms of career success – have you had lucky breaks?

Luck doesn’t exist. Work hard, stay the course.

11. Alan Davies has said that comedians fall into two categories -golfers and self-harmers. The former just get on with life, the latter are tortured artists. Which are you – or do you think you fit into a third category?

I like to fall into the category of the type of act that can choose to be a comedian and other times be an artist. I think it's category 9.

12. Who is your favourite person ever and why – not including family or friends or other comedians?

Wile E Coyote. He doesn’t give up

13. Do you keep your drawers tidy and if not why not? (please think long and hard about this question, it's to settle an argument with my girlfriend. The future of our relationship could depend on your response).

I would love to keep drawers tidy but tend to spend my life living out of suitcases. Tour life huh?

Tape Face will be at the Garrick Theatre from Tuesday, 6th June to Saturday, 22nd July 2017. Tickets and details here.
