News: Victor Lewis-Smith To Make "Undiscovered" Peter Sellers Documentary

Comedian and film-maker Victor Lewis-Smith is to make a TV documentary about Peter Sellers for Sky Arts.

He confirmed the news on Twitter today: "Delighted to announce that I have been commissioned to produce "The Undiscovered Peter Sellers". We have found amazing footage."

Lewis-Smith's last TV project to be broadcast was The Undiscovered Peter Cook, which revealed a more sensitive side to the late satirist and was broadcast on BBC4 last November. By coincidence it contained some rarely seen footage of Peter Sellers performing with Cook.

The news comes at a time when Sellers' work is being reappraised again. One of his later movies, Being There, about a gardener who becomes US President, has been mentioned by a number of writers when commenting on the rise of Donald Trump.
