News: David Walliams New All-Star Sketch Show - Details Confirmed

After a Christmas one-off with Joanna Lumley, David Walliams will be back on BBC One with a new friend each week, as Walliams & Friend returns this autumn.

Filmed on location and in front of a live studio audience, the star will be joined by Harry Enfield (Harry & Paul), writer and comedian Meera Syal (Goodness Gracious Me), Jack Whitehall (Bad Education), Sheridan Smith (The C Word) and award-winning actress Miranda Richardson (Mapp And Lucia).

The series will also feature a Christmas special with actor Hugh Bonneville (W1A) joining David. The show also stars Morgana Robinson (Morgana Robinson’s The Agency) and Mike Wozniak (Man Down).

Walliams says: "I am thrilled to be working with some of Britain's best loved comedians and actors."

Shane Allen, Controller, Comedy Commissioning, BBC says: “David is a master of the sketch show who has attracted a terrific array of A-list comedy stars to play with each week. The concepts and writing behind it are superbly crafted and the series promises fresh surprises every show.”

Written by David Walliams and the Dawson Brothers, Walliams & Friend was commissioned by Shane Allen and Gregor Sharp for the BBC and is being made by King Bert Productions. The executive producer for King Bert Productions is Jo Sargent and Gregor Sharp is executive producer for the BBC. It is produced by Sarah Fraser for King Bert and directed by Matt Lipsey.
