News: Kerry Godliman & John Finnemore Star In New Sitcom

Comedy favourites Kerry Godliman and John Finnemore are among the stars of a new family sitcom, Carters Get Rich, being made for Sky 1, which also stars Dawson's Creek actor James Van Der Beek.

The series follows 11-year-old Harry Carter (Rio Chambers) who creates ‘Honc’, an app for geeky kids like him who don’t know how to talk to girls. ‘Honc’ becomes the next big social networking app and it is bought for ten million pounds. The series follows the family as they struggle to cope with their new wealth.

Ash Atalla, MD of Roughcut TV who are making the show for Sky, says: “We’re very proud of this new series for Sky 1 and it’s a fantastic example of Roughcut TV’s ability to create a range of modern and mainstream sitcoms with international appeal. The team is thrilled to further build on our long-standing relationship with Sky and deliver another exciting new show for the broadcaster.”

Godliman plays Harry’s mother Liz, while Finnemore plays the family's old Etonian financial advisor Oliver. Also appearing are Rhashan Stone and Rhianna Merralls.

The six-part series is written by Claire Downes, Stuart Lane and Ian Jarvis and will premier this autumn.
