News: Daniel Kitson Hosts All-Star Fundraiser

Tom Parry of sketch group Pappy's has organised a benefit gig to be compered by Daniel Kitson to raise money for the place where Parry studied drama.

The annual Hilarity Charity show at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre on June 6 is a fundraiser to replace the annual grant that the Central Youth Theatre lost due to austerity measures. The drama courses there encourage local children to get involved in theatre like Parry did. "It’s a cracking charity that really does change the lives of kids in the West Midlands," he says.

The line-up includes Joe Lycett, Nish Kumar, Adam Riches, Spencer Jones, Ivo Graham and Pappy's.

Writing about the gig on his newsletter Kitson said: "It's one of the rare benefits where it’s actually within the scope of the gig to fix the problem. Which is the cuts to the youth theatres funding that have been in previous years been almost entirely mitigated by people coming to this show. So, if you are around, it would be EXCELLENT if you came."
