News: Johnny Depp & Stephen Merchant Star In Donald Trump Movie

Comedy website Funny Or Die has released a free all-star 50-minute send-up of the business philosophy of Donald Trump, starring Johnny Depp as the Presidential hopeful.

Donald Trump’s The Art of the Deal: The Movie also features Stephen Merchant (as a member of the Hilton family who insists he is American despite his West Country accent), Ron Howard (playing himself and intorducing the film, which is supposed to be a rare lost documentary from the 1980s), Patton Oswalt, Henry Winkler (as New York Mayor Ed Koch), Kristen Schaal, Andy Richter, Alfred Molina and Christopher Lloyd

In the satirical film, supposedly made by Trump, the billionaire offers his tips on how to be successful in business. The Funny Or Die website offers this description of the film. “Donald Trump has it all. Money, power, respect, and an Eastern European bride. But all his success didn’t come for nothing. First, he inherited millions of dollars from his rich father, then he grabbed New York City by the balls. Now you can learn the art of negotiation, real estate, and high-quality brass in this illuminating made-for-TV special feature,”

The movie, directed by Jeremy Konner, was reportedly shot in secret around December with Depp taking four days to film his lead role. According to the New York Times, Owen Burke, Funny or Die’s editor in chief, originally pitched the concept. He describes Depp’s performance as “Absolutely bananas. We’re usually just slapping wigs on people, but Johnny brought, like, a whole team of professionals to help him get into character. Or at least style his hair.”
