News: Dave Chappelle To Play UK

Dave Chappelle

Update: 5 more dates at Eventim Apollo have been added due to demand - he now plays July 8 - 14. Ticket details below.

American comedy heavyweight Dave Chappelle is to play his first full show in the UK. He will be performing at the Eventim Apollo, W6, on Wednesday 8th July and Thursday 9th July.

Chappelle has only ever performed shorter sets. He first came to the UK in 1994 as part of the Lighten Up package tour and appeared with other up-and-coming US comedians at Jongleurs in Camden.

Stand-up, screenwriter, actor, TV and film producer Chappelle is celebrated for his Comedy Central sketch series Chappelle’s Show, which was co-written with Neal Brennan. Having also featured in films such as You've Got Mail, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, The Nutty Professor, Con Air and Half Baked, Chapelle is a familiar face on cinema screens around the world.

In 2013 Chappelle made a return to stand-up and has since been touring America. His unpredictable, edgy style has won him enormous plaudits all over the world, including huge respect from Jay Z and Chris Rock.

Esquire has hailed Chappelle as “The comic genius of America” and he was named as one of Comedy Central's "100 Greatest Stand-Ups of All Time”.
