News: Indie Film Swag Picks Up Festival Awards Nominations

Independent short movie Swag, featuring a number of rising comedy stars, has picked up three award nominations at The Los Angeles Short Film Festival. David Elms has been nominated for Best Actor, Mark Davison for Best Supporting Actor and Simon Elsbury from Flashlight TV for Best Cinematographer.

SWAG is a silent comedy film written by and starring Musical Comedy Award Winner 2014 David Elms, directed by Matt Holt and produced by Sara Shulman.

The film also features some of the best new talent in the UK such as Davison, Ellie White (currently in House of Fools), Adam Hess, Lolly Adefope, Rhys James, Natasia Demetriou, Phil Wang, Pierre Novellie, Patrick Turpin, Alex Owen, Ben Ashenden, Jack Barry, Orry Gibbens, Stevie Martin, Liz Smith, Adam Lawrence, Joe Bannister and Lizzie Daykin.

The film is part of the Official Selection for several film festivals in California including the LA Indie Film Festival, where it has its LA Premiere on Saturday 7th March and it is also part of the Official Selection at the Los Angeles Short Film Festival on Sunday 15th March.

Producer Sara Shulman said: “We are so excited that film festivals around the world have included ‘SWAG’ as part of the Official Selection and even more so that it has won several awards and individual performances have received nominations! We had a fantastic cast and crew working on the film and we hope that international audiences enjoy watching this short silent comedy film as much as we enjoyed making it.”

SWAG won a Director’s Award at the North Carolina Film Festival and has been selected for the Eastern North Carolina Film Festival. The film also won the Award of Merit for a Comedy Short Film at the San Francisco Film Awards.
