Underbelly is to launch a new permanent London venue.

Underbelly Boulevard in Soho will open in September 2023 and will stage cabaret, variety and musical shows. There will be a late night bar and a rehearsal room. It will have a capacity of 200 and will also have a restaurant.

It has not been confirmed but this looks like venue that was previously the Boulevard Theatre in Walker’s Court, the site where Paul Raymond opened the original Boulevard Theatre. This was where in the 1980s The Comic Strip ensemble, featuring Rik Mayall, Adrian Edmondson, Peter Richardson, Nigel Planer, Jennifer Saunders, Dawn French and Alexei Sayle used to perform reuglarly.
