Third Child For Katherine Ryan

Katherine Ryan Appears On Desert Island Discs

Katherine Ryan has given birth to a third child.

Her partner Bobby Kootstra posted the news and a picture of their baby daughter on Instagram: “Fenna Grace Kootstra. Dec 16, at 12:05am. Mom is incredible! Proving her strength repeatedly through the relatively lengthy delivery at home. We are so blessed.”

Ryan already has an older daughter from a previous relationship and a son since she rekindled her romance with childhood sweetheart Kootstra.

The birth comes just as Ryan is set to have a high profile onscreen, starting with Sky broadcasting her critically acclaimed stand-up special Missus on Sky Comedy and streaming service NOW from 29 December.

Creator and star of the series The Duchess (along with two global Netflix comedy specials: In Trouble and Glitter Room), Katherine Ryan brings her highly anticipated new special, Missus, filmed at the Edinburgh Playhouse, to Sky for the first time.

Missus has just finished a completely sold-out tour of the UK, Europe and Canada. Having previously denounced marriage, monogamy, and categorising men as “like dolphins – best enjoyed on holiday”, a lot has changed for everyone over the past few years – Katherine included. Having since married her first love (accidentally), Sky audiences can look forward to hearing Katherine Ryan’s hilarious new perspectives on life, love, and what it means to be a Missus.

And then her comedy thriller Romantic Getaway in which she stars with Romesh Ranganathan airs on Sky from January 1. This six-part modern Bonnie and Clyde story sees couple Alison (Katherine Ryan) and Deacon (Romesh Ranganathan) desperate to have a child. After countless IVF attempts, they are faced with the possibility it might not happen. They are unable to afford more rounds, and with mounting debts the pressure on the relationship begins to show. What is their solution? Steal. Now they must avoid getting caught.

Later this year Katherine Ryan (pictured) appears live at the 02 Arena as part of the first ever Just For Laughs festival in London. Details here.
