New Era For Glasgow International Comedy Festival

New Era For Glasgow International Comedy Festival
The Glasgow International Comedy Festival has launched a new website, branding and registrations for 2023 to mark a new era, post pandemic and under new management.

The Festival has been bringing world-class comedy to Glasgow for two decades, with 2023's showcase having the honour of being the 20th iteration.

The new Festival Director, Krista MacDonald, took over the running of the Festival in 2022 with support from partners Gilded Balloon and The Stand, but today the group launched a new organisation, brand and vision, as the Festival aims to recover fully after a two year break caused by COVID-19.

Registrations for the 2023 Festival, which runs from 15th March - 2nd April, are now open for venues and acts to take part. Tickets for a selection of shows are already on sale. The King's Theatre is set to play host to the return of Susie McCabe, The Duncan & Judy Murray Show and Marc Jennings will make his debut at the iconic theatre. Other early highlights for the festival include Jim Smith, Stewart Lee, Craig Hill, Zoe Lyons, Liam Farrelly and Weegie Hink Ae That?

Commenting, Krista MacDonald, Festival Director said: "2023 is Glasgow's 20th International Comedy Festival and it's fitting to mark the occasion with our colourful new branding & website to showcase the new era.

"Last year gave us the chance to regroup and support the venues and acts that struggled through the pandemic - but this year we're back with the time, energy and enthusiasm for Glasgow's comedy scene to really showcase what we have to offer.

"The Festival exists to showcase our homegrown talent and bring much loved names to the city - that's what we're planning to do to rise to the special occasion that this year brings.

"Registrations are now open, and we'd love to see the mix of Glasgow venues, with the diversity of acts from home and further afield, help make 2023 a special Festival for everyone."
