Olga Koch, Alfie Brown, Erika Ehler, Stuart Laws, Amy Gledhill, Joz Norris, Isy Suttie, Jessica Fostekew and Tom Ward are among the comedians set to appear at this year's HowTheLightGetsIn festival from 2nd-5th June 2022.

Combining critical thinking and challenging debate with comedy, music and vibrant culture, HowTheLightGetsIn Hay 2022 is the world’s largest philosophy and music festival. Back for its grand return to Hay-On-Wye, HowTheLightGetsIn celebrates days of discussion and new discoveries with an incredible line-up of music, comedy and cabaret.

June’s theme is Dreams and Jeopardy, with headline speakers including legendary biologist Richard Dawkins, comedian and actor Isy Suttie, Nobel Prize winning physicist Roger Penrose, award winning comedian Sally Phillips, broadcaster and LBC host Iain Dale, trailblazing philosopher of race Tommy Curry, political activist and musician Lowkey, and YouTuber Alex J.O’Connor (CosmicSkeptic), plus many, many more.

Hays’ festival boasts a truly unique programme of debates for free-thinking minds. With discussions designed to push the limits of what you know and speakers hand-picked for their creativity and insight, expect topics such as Infinity In the Palm of Your Hand, The Strangeness of the Universe and Beyond the Self and the Non-Self.

Expertly-chosen music and irresistible comedy are an essential part of all HowTheLightGetsIn festivals. This year’s line-up includes Mercury prize winner Talvin Singh, DJ and producer Nabihah Iqbal, internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter Camille O’Sullivan, South London jazz collective Steam Down, soulful singer and cellist Ayanna Witter-Johnson, 6 Music’s Nemone, indie trio Peaness, plus award-winning comedians Olga Koch (pictured), Alfie Brown, Erika Ehler and Joz Norris.

The People’s Front Room will also be hosting their very own tent throughout the festival weekend. What started as a group of 8 has now become 80 plus, and with that growth comes a whole spectrum of talent and collaboration covering the visual arts, music and new technology/media.

With over 300 events taking place across the weekend, June’s festival promises days filled with unmissable debates, comedy, music and talks.

Tickets for the full weekend are available now. Students and under 25s are eligible for a 30% discount.
