This week's guests include the UK’s biggest and most successful solo music artist, Ed Sheeran, who chats via Zoom (because he tested positive for Covid). Plus, former legendary footballer John Barnes, comedian Russell Howard, Midsommar and Dopesick actor Will Poulter and more. 

That's not a bad line-up. Ross recently said that Covid had affected their plans and sometimes things had had to be changed around, Hence Ed Sheeran apearing on Zoom rather than in the studio. He also decided to cancel his annual Halloween party this year. One of his daughters is poorly and he didn't think it would be right for 200 revellers to be partying while his daughter was confinded to her bedroom.

Across the series the cream of the celebrity crop will delight viewers with tales from the most-talked about TV series and movies. Plus, the biggest sporting stars will exclusively discuss the huge sporting moments that have kept the nation on the edge of their seats. 

Top comedians - and up and coming comedy talent - will appear alongside stars of the stage and the silver screen. And, as ever, Jonathan will welcome musical acts of the moment, performing their latest tracks live in the studio.

It's a competitive world out there in chat show land, but when Ross is on form he should be able to give Graham Norton, who has his old Friday night slot on BBC One, a run for his money.
