News: Pleasance Announces Edinburgh Programme

The Pleasance Theatre has officially announced its first batch of 50 shows today. Among the highlights is a new play, My Obsession, by Paul Merton's wife Suki Webster starring, erm, Paul Merton and about an obsessive fan meeting their stand-up hero. Also at the Pleasance are new shows from Foster's Award winner Adam Riches entitled Adam of the Riches and Foster's nominees James Acaster in Recognise and Tom Binns as DJ Ivan Brackenbury, psychic Ian D Montford and other characters. And as announced yesterday Jeremy Paxman will be making his Fringe debut in Paxo. Brace yourselves for lots of stuffing puns from the critics. Other highlights include Hebburn's Jason Cook, stand-ups John Robins and Mark Watson and highly-rated sketch duo The Pin. The Festival runs from July 30 - August 25. All booking details here.

*It has also been announced today that Jim Davidson is making his Fringe stand-up debut this year, bringing his show, No Further Action, to the Rainy Hall, Assembly Hall from August 1 - 24. Tickets go on sale on April 13.
