News: Comic Legend Burt Kwouk Dies

Legendary actor Burt Kwouk has died. He was 85.

Kwouk was one of the most familiar faces on TV and film for more than fifty years. Some of his earliest high profile roles were in the James Bond classics Goldfinger and You Only Live Twice, but he found major cinematic fame as Cato in the Pink Panther films opposite Peter Sellers. He also popped up in the 1960s Bond send-up Casino Royale.

He became the go-to actor when an oriental face was required in thrillers and comedy shows. His CV included Jason King, Minder and Shoestring.

Kwouk's TV comedy career stretched from appearing in the sitcom Robin's Nest and working with Jim Davidson to guesting with Harry Hill live and onstage and more recently, starring as Entwistle in Last of the Summer Wine (pictured) from 2002 to 2010. He was also the narrator of E4 hidden camera show Banzai.

He was awarded an OBE in 2011.
