News: Scottish Comedy Awards – Full Results

Sitcom Still Game was the big winner at the Scottish Comedy Awards. The results were announced tonight in Glasgow and the sitcom and live show bagged two prizes, for Best Event and Best TV Show.

In the Best Event category Still Game beat The Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony, Eddie Izzard's Scotland Please Don't Go fundraising gig for Better Together and The Stand comedy club's Aye Right? How No? Referendum Night Satirical show.

In the Best TV Show category Still Game Live fought off stiff competition from Mrs Brown's Boys and Bob Servant.

Kevin Bridges won the Award for Best TV ahead of Frankie Boyle, who won Best Online Comedy for his BBC iPlayer only programme Referendum Autopsy.

Darren Connell collected the award for Best Comedy Actor for his role in BBC Scot Squad.

Glaswegian comedian Janey Godley, who recently accused the makers of the new Irn Bru TV Advert of stealing her "Crack on" quip, was nominated in four categories Best Compere, Headliner, Show and Podcast, but unfortunately didn't win any.

The panel's  Outstanding Contribution to Scottish Comedy Award will be given to Ben Verth for creating and curating the Scottish Comedy Festival at Edinburgh Fringe.

The Scottish Comedy Awards were set up in 2014 by Glaswegian comedian and promoter Alan Anderson as a reaction to a succession of years with no Scottish Acts being nominated in the British Comedy Awards.

Over 200 Scottish comedians, promoters, comedy journalists, comedy club staff, TV & Radio producers voted.
